Why are only profit based companies such as HOME GAIN the Realtor listors on YAHOO?

IS Active Rain the only site where Realtors can be selected on a basis of more than the deepest pockets? The public can select and view numerous realtors and the site is FREE.
As a realtor who generates business also on the internet I find that companies that claim to be LEAD GENERATERS do dominate the websites, again, deep pockets.
Where did really free enterprise go in America? Is everything just who can spend the most now? not who can do the most?

I hate the model too. What happens is that selling agents pay Yahoo to list their house in the real estate section. Yahoo lists the site. BUT, they are NOT listed as the agent to contact, Home Gain (it was another one last month) pays to be listed as the contact.

I think it is lousy and deceptive. A buyer will be contacting an agent that knows nothing about the house at all. THe worst part is that the agent who paid for the exposure has NO chance at all of finding the buyer themselves.

BTW, I am not an agent, so not biased toward them. I just hate deceptive information. Your question is an example of the effects of the deception, you believed that the houses listed were all listings by Home Gain.

They pay for advertisements. The best way to find someone to work with whether it be mortgages or realtors is from a personal referral from someone that you know and has had experience with this person.

Because they have beaten Realtors at their own game.

Dumb Realtors sign up for their service, pay them a monthly fee, then pay them 30% referral fee.

Smart HomeGain takes this money and puts their web site at the top of the search engines. Knocking out Realtors listing at the top of the search engine.

If Realtors STOPPED buying their leads by paying their monthly fees, and 30% referral fee they would go out of business in a month.

    Hope this helps.
