I am looking for a new place, want a similar site to Craigslist. I want to rent something from the owner not through a Realtor

I think that http://www.realtor.com has listings for apts ( & maybe rooms ) – easy to look first, then go to see some

Craigslist is probably the best I think. But, you can type in the following in your google search " rent by owner" possible add the name of your city at the end. It will show you a list of owners who are currently renting in your area
